A Supernatural Spinoff Will Happen If "The Idea Is Right," Creator Says

All right, who sold their soul at a crossroads? I'm not angry, I just want to know who to blame for The CW's continued interest in producing a Supernatural spin-off. Series creator Eric Kripke recently spoke to TV Line about potential future efforts to expand the world of Sam and Dean Winchester in the wake of last season's failed attempt to launch Supernatural: Bloodlines, which aired as a backdoor pilot but wasn't picked up to series. We've known since the Television Critics Association fall previews were held in July that CW president Mark Pedowitz is still gunning to get aSupernatural spin-off on the air, but I'm still so burned by Bloodlines that I'm giving both Kripke and Pedowitz the side-eye like they're Crowley trying to make me a deal. After seeing the poorly crafted story and bland characters of Bloodlines, some Supernatural fans view the idea of a spin-off as little more than a lazy attempt to cash in on the show's passionate and dedicated fandom.
