Kathleen Hanna, the onetime leader of the riot grrrl band Bikini Kill and feminist electro-pop act Le Tigre, has spent most of the last decade battling late-stage Lyme disease. Encouraged by husband Adam Horovitz — that would be Ad-Rock of the Beastie Boys — she returned to making music last year as the singer for the Julie Ruin. Along with a debut, “Run Fast,” international tour and intimate documentary about her, “The Punk Singer,” she’s fighting back against the illness that nearly drove her to early retirement. There’s a couple songs where I have to tell myself to just stand in front of the mike and think about the pitch and make something beautiful. [...] I always end up dancing.
