D.C. has allowed dozens of affordable-housing loans to languish in default

The District government has failed to collect tens of millions of dollars on dozens of delinquent loans, most of them intended to boost the city’s stock of affordable housing, city records show. The typical delinquent loan — among a list of 43 — is more than four years behind on mortgage payments, according to the records.
