Comment on Gainesville woman stole, then tried to scrap car, deputies say

A Gainesville woman was arrested on Wednesday after sheriff’s deputies say she stole a car and then tried to sell it for scrap. Deputies were called on Wednesday by an employee of Big D’s Salvage on Wednesday afternoon, who told them a woman, later identified as 23-year-old Talissa Sharay Davis, tried to sell him a questionable 1999 Infiniti J30 sedan, according to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office report. The employee told deputies he recognized Davis as the same person who sold him a car last week that was also reported stolen. Davis was still at the salvage yard when deputies arrived, and she tried to run away after she saw them.
