International adoption made me a commodity, not a daughter

I was taken from my home in Ethiopia by a corrupt adoption agency. When I returned, I felt Ethiopian, but they saw me as an AmericanIn 2006, less than a year after my sisters and I were brought to America as the victims of a corrupt adoption agency, I told the Americans who were saying that they were our forever family that I wanted to return to Ethiopia.
