For Lane Valladares' pre-K class at Bethany Christian School in Thousand Oaks, the tying of knots on a blanket Thursday morning provided her students with a lesson in motor skills and service. The blanket was for Project Linus, a nonprofit organization that since 1998 has delivered over 5 million blankets to children who are ill, traumatized or otherwise in need, to provide a sense of security."For this age, shoe tying is something we practice and this week we are talking about the letter ‘Q' for quilts," Valladares said.
