Off-duty detective credited with saving man's life

GEDDES, N.Y. (AP) — An off-duty sheriff's detective is credited with saving the life of a 71-year-old restaurant patron in suburban Syracuse. Emergency responders from the Solvay Fire Department shocked the man with an automated external defibrillator.
