Police investigating the deaths of a Gouldsboro couple found shot to death on Thursday morning believe that the husband shot his elderly wife to death then turned his handgun on himself. State police spokesman Stephen McCausland said Thursday evening that the deaths of 75-year-old Virginia Hutchins and 65-year-old Raymond Hutchins “appear to be a murder-suicide.” A relative who went to check on the couple at their Grand Marsh Bay home found their bodies on their couch, where a handgun was also recovered, McCausland said in a written statement.
