Thanksgiving volunteers come through in Paterson, Englewood

The mood was festive Thursday as local and federal lawmakers carted plates crammed with traditional Thanksgiving fixings to rows of talkative diners at Eva’s Village, an anti-poverty non-profit in Paterson with a full-time staff of 90 people and a budget of $10 million. But meanwhile at a senior citizen low-rise 15 miles east in Englewood, where the much smaller non-profit Bergen County Resource Center hosted its annual holiday meal, some wondered where the politicians were this Thanksgiving.
