DETROIT (AP) — The number of traffic deaths nationwide dropped just over 3 percent last year, and the rate of deaths per 100 million miles traveled tied a record low, according to government statistics. A total of 32,719 people died in U.S. crashes in 2013, down from 33,782 in 2012, according to figures compiled by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
