An excused juror who spoke to the Beacon Journal about the Shawn Ford murder case is now the target of a criminal contempt charge being pursued by the trial judge.Marla Lloyd, 49, of Akron was served with a subpoena Saturday morning by a Summit County sheriff’s deputy. She has been ordered by Common Pleas Judge Tom Parker to answer contempt charges at a hearing set for Feb 17.Lloyd could be sentenced to as much as 30 days in jail and a $250 fine.Lloyd’s attorney, Walter Madison of Akron, said the former juror would never intentionally violate a court order.“At no time did she have any intention to cause any obstruction of justice or be in contempt of a court order,” he said.Efforts to reach Parker for comment were not successful.
