A helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Savannah medically evacuated a mariner Friday morning 12 miles east of Savannah. Watchstanders in the Coast Guard Sector Charleston command center were notified of the request by the vessel’s master at 3:38 a.m., according to Petty Officer 3rd Class Anthony Soto. The report stated a crewmember from the motor vessel Hanjin Rio de Janeiro was suffering from internal injuries.
