State Democrats spurn 2016 presidential primary, stick with caucuses

The state Democratic Party has decided to stick with precinct caucuses in picking the party’s 2016 presidential nominee, spurning an appeal from Secretary of State Kim Wyman for a primary in which voters would get a voice. The party’s action, at a weekend meeting in Pasco,  may kill any 2016 presidential primary, although Republicans have been more open to the ballot box.
