Semi-truck fire closes I-10 near downtown Phoenix

PHOENIX (AP) — Transportation officials say a freeway in downtown Phoenix has reopened after a semi-truck caught fire forced a shutdown. The Arizona Department of Transportation says the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 were closed for several hours Saturday due to the fire. The incident happened shortly before 5 a.m. near where I-10, State Route 51 and Loop 202 intercept. The spot is also known as the Mini-Stack interchange and is just east of downtown. ADOT had advised drivers to skirt around the closure by taking I-17 southbound south of downtown. The westbound lanes of I-10 were not affected.
