Lawsuit claims Jacksonville peddling law violates rights, treats blacks unfairly

A Jacksonville pastor running a youth club that raises money door-to-door is suing the city, saying a law that restricts peddling violates members’ rights and treats African-Americans unfairly. Youth Opportunities of America and its founder, Stephen Boykins, are asking a federal judge for an injunction to block enforcement of an ordinance requiring adult supervision for peddlers younger than 18 and bans any peddling before age 14. read more
