KINGSPORT — The Sullivan Street improvement project is scheduled to begin June 1. And while city officials admit the project will involve road closures and detours, the end result will be well worth the hassle.Kingsport plans to widen and improve Sullivan Street from just before Church Circle to Clinchfield Street, converting the roadway over to concrete and adding a mobility path on the north side of the road.Bids were accepted for the work back in February, and Thomas Construction came in with the lowest bid at $1,385,215.
