Comment on Pinnacle Awards honor outstanding Sullivan school system employees

BLOUNTVILLE — It wasn’t exactly the Oscars or Emmys.But the Sullivan County Department of Education’s second annual Pinnacle Awards drew more than 20 school system employees down the red, or make that rose-colored, carpet during Monday night’s Board of Education meeting.Director of Schools Jubal Yennie said the awards — which Yennie said were given at the school board meeting instead of Tuesday night because he was going to be out of town at a conference — were started to recognize employees for making outstanding contributions to the system.
