Sullivan school board plans to choose interim director June 1, following interviews that day

BLOUNTVILLE — If you want to be interim head of Northeast Tennessee’s largest school system, your application is due May 27 and your interview and possible hiring would be June 1.And if you want to seek the permanent job, no problem.School board members of the more than 10,000-student Sullivan County school system plan to pick an interim director of schools sooner rather than later — during their regular meeting Monday, June 1, following interviews that afternoon.Director of Schools Jubal Yennie is leaving effective June 30 to become superintendent of the Albany County, Wyo., school system based in Laramie.The Board of Education, during a called meeting and work session Thursday, agreed to a proposed schedule from board Chairman Dan Wells to interview all applicants 3:30 p.m.
