Best-selling children's author Dian Curtis Regan grew up in Colorado Springs, attended District 11 schools and was working downtown when she met her husband, a New York boy lured west by the mountains. "We got married and his job took us all over, to different states and even to South America," said Regan, who eventually settled with her husband in Kansas, close enough to the mountains that John didn't have to travel too far to indulge his favorite sport.
