SUNSET BEACH -- Officials in Sunset Beach continue to take steps toward eventually charging for parking in the town, even though the council likely won't consider the measure for years. State Rep. Frank Iler, R-Brunswick, introduced a bill in the N.C. House that would allow Sunset Beach to take proceeds from parking and put them in the town's general fund, exempting it from state rules that require parking proceeds to be used exclusively for a parking program.
