Woman, 46, arrested after fire in Manitou Springs historic district

Manitou Springs residents jumped from a second-floor window late Saturday morning after a woman allegedly set fire to the house where they lived. The woman, identified as Nicchi Ladawn, was arrested after calling the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and admitting to starting the fire at 507 Canon Ave., Manitou Springs police said. The woman, 46, faces first-degree arson charges, according to police spokeswoman Odette Saglimbeni, and the investigation is ongoing. No serious injuries were reported after the fire damaged three floors of the 101-year-old structure, Manitou Springs Fire Department spokesman David Hunting said.
