Comment on Capturing the Voices of Mothers in Prison

We laid out children’s books on the tables around the perimeter of the room. A guard led the women in. Our team leader asked everyone for introductions, volunteers and inmates alike, all of us mothers. The second inmate choked back tears; it was her first time.
