Comment on Daytona hotels target families for summer fun

DAYTONA BEACH SHORES - While the World's Most Famous Beach is known for special events such as the Daytona 500 and Bike Week, families with children on summer break are the biggest source of visitors this time of year.A number of area hotels offer family-friendly amenities and programs that range from kids activity centers -where parents can leave their children to enjoy adults-only time - to outdoor movies, water slides and miniature golf courses.Diana Brown, a Clermont resident who spent several nights last month with her husband and their grandchildren at Perry's Ocean Edge Resort in Daytona Beach Shores, said she and her husband have been coming to the hotel to enjoy the beach since their son was 2 years old.
