Augusta event aims to start conversation on human trafficking, help young women

Adrianne Marcía Fernandez wants to get Augusta talking about sexual exploitation, and she’s starting the conversation with young women in the community. Fernandez and Shelley Williams, both Georgia Regents University graduates, organized an event Saturday to bring awareness to human sex trafficking and to teach teenagers to college students the signs of trafficking and who to contact for help. “Somebody’s got to start talking about this,” Fernandez said.
