An early morning garage fire near downtown Colorado Springs forced the evacuation of two homes but no was hurt, Gazette news partner KKTV said in a report. Firefighters had the blaze under control by 4 a.m. Friday, KKTV said. The fire was first reported about 3 a.m. at a house on the 900 block of South Cascade Avenue. Officials evacuated the residents of the home and one other. "Thankfully it was only a garage fire and that no one was injured," neighbor Ben Bankford told KKTV. The fire investigation is ongoing.
