Oklahoma City wants to bring horseback riding to banks of Oklahoma River

The Oklahoma City Council is set to lift a restriction later this month on horseback riding along the Oklahoma River. The decision will remove one obstacle to a $13.6 million proposal for riding trails, a livery stable, and outdoor and indoor arenas near the Stockyards. Pat Downes, director of development for the Oklahoma City Riverfront Redevelopment Authority, said the idea "in many ways is going back to the roots" of Oklahoma City's earliest days.
