By Staff reports West Virginia University has hired a director of Greek life in an effort to change how fraternities and sororities on campus function and are viewed.Hired after a national search was conducted, Roy Baker, who currently oversees fraternities, sororities and student activities at Pennsylvania State University, will join the school at the end of the month.The new position was created to manage Greek activities on campus, especially those dealing with scholarships, service, leadership and safety.The university has 28 fraternities and sororities on campus affiliated with three Greek councils.Last year, Greek life at the university was suspended when first-year student and Kappa Sigma pledge Nolan Burch, 18, died two days after he suffered a "catastrophic medical emergency" at a party.
