Kiryas Joel widened the field of litigation over its potential expansion on Thursday by filing a court appeal to win the full 507-acre area that the Monroe Town Board denied the village last month.In a petition to the Appellate Division of state Supreme Court, the village's attorneys argued that the benefits of shifting 507 acres into Kiryas Joel from Monroe outweigh the detriments.
