Troy police probing 911 call release

Councilman Jim Gordon and his wife have filed a complaint with city police about the release of the audio file of her 911 call to Rensselaer County during a domestic dispute. The recording became public Tuesday, two weeks before the Nov. 3 election in which Jim Gordon is running for mayor as the Republican candidate. The two other candidates in the four-way race for mayor are City Council President Rodney Wiltshire, running on the Working Families party line, and Jack Cox Jr., the Revolutionary Party candidate. "The county is appalled by the apparent violation of state law governing the privacy of those calling the Emergency 911 Center and is requesting that the district attorney review this matter and hold those guilty accountable," Christopher Meyer, a county spokesman said in a statement Tuesday afternoon. Both officers are experienced in domestic violence investigations and have worked with Unity House in such cases.
