It was down 13 a little more than a week ago with less than two minutes remaining before orchestrating a comeback. Trailing Altus by 14 with 1:17 left Monday night, McGuinness coach Justin Jones had the hope his team could duplicate the comeback with a quick score, onside kick and another score. Those hopes, though, were quickly dashed. Quarterback Jacob Mullins threw his third interception of the night, and Altus sealed a 49-35 win at Cameron Stadium to advance to the Class 5A state football championship. “It was one of those deals I felt like at the end we should have had a couple more shots, but that was out of our control,” Jones said.Read more on NewsOK.com
