Levi’s Stadium has turf trouble during Super Bowl

Not eight minutes into the second quarter, the turf had caused enough problems that CBS reported that several players, particularly on the Denver sideline, were switching their cleats. The grass was supplied by West Coast Turf, a company from the Palm Springs area. Normally, the NFL trucks in grass from Alabama, but the league decided it was too far of a haul to California. Niners fans are familiar with turf problems; the field at Levi’s has been resodded multiple times, and poor playing surfaces have led to canceled practices more than once.
