When Ozen High School students walk to or from school, their side of Fannett Road is grass - soggy when it rains, like it did on Wednesday - dotted with depressions waiting to snatch and turn an ankle and mounded with fire ants. The pathway is also dark in winter mornings or when daylight saving starts because there aren't any street lights on the Ozen side of Fannett.
