Crews in Hurricane worked for more than eight hours Sunday to free a Jack Russell terrier trapped underground, police say. The dog fell in a hole about six to eight feet deep near Quail Creek Ranch when walking with her owners at 11 a.m., according to a news release from Hurricane City Police Department. City animal control attempted to coax the dog out with a pole, but she remained stuck, the release states.
