MACON, Ga. — A 17-year-old boy has drowned at Amerson River Park in Macon. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office tells media outlets in a statement that Marcos Mendez Perez died Sunday. Deputies say someone reported shortly before 6 p.m. that Perez had been on a float near one of the picnic areas and slipped off.
