A girl was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after firefighters rescued her from a smoky fire that broke out on Wednesday in a single-story home in the unincorporated Cherryland neighborhood between San Lorenzo and Hayward, the Alameda County Fire Department said. Two other residents of the home, both boys, were also hospitalized with less serious injuries.
