Thousands of well-paid nuclear workers at places such as Savannah River Site and Plant Vogtle will be retiring in the next decade. Whether those jobs are filled by local applicants or people from elsewhere depends largely on how well area colleges prepare the next generation of Augusta-Aiken workers.
