Federal agency awards almost $1 million for drug treatment in Oklahoma

From Staff ReportsOklahoma will receive thousands more in federal dollars in 2016 to further combat the opioid epidemic, a federal agency announced Wednesday. That includes $950,000 to improve access to treatment for opioid use disorders. "The epidemic of opioid use disorders involving the nonmedical use of prescription opioid pain relievers and the use of heroin has had a devastating impact on individuals, families and communities across our nation,” said Kana Enomoto, principal deputy administrator at the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.Read more on NewsOK.com
