The El Paso County Sheriff's Office identified Monday the man who appeared last week at the entrance of Fort Carson with gunshot wounds, adding that he is suspected of a shooting near Stratmoor Hills Elementary School. Ulysses Maples, 40, was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, felony menacing and possession of a weapon by a previous offender after he was treated for nonlife threatening injuries following a shooting on the 1600 block of Hampton South, the Sheriff's Office said.
