“Widely scattered power outages are possible at these wind speeds,” the National Weather Service says in its hazardous weather outlook. Highest wind gusts clocked Saturday morning were 26 mph at Sikorsky Memorial Airport in Stratford, 25 at Danbury airport and 24 at Waterbury-Oxford airport. The strong winds is caused by a deepening low pressure system that will track north across coastal NewEngland Saturday and then into eastern Canada tonight into Sunday. According to the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network, Stamford saw up to .68 of an inch on Friday. On Saturday morning there were already scattered power outages reported in Danbury, Newtown and Bridgeport.
