Top election fundraising in Colorado centers on Denver DA, CU regents

Candidates racing to become Denver’s next district attorney remain the most prolific fundraisers of all the local races in Colorado to date, bringing in $1 million combined so far, election data shows. Close behind the Denver DA’s race in fundraising is the contest to occupy one of three vacant seats on the University of Colorado Board of Regents, a pressurized effort at ensuring the nine-member panel maintains a four-decade-long Republican advantage. Provided by Beth McCannBeth McCann is a Democrat running for Denver District AttorneyDenver Democrat Beth McCann remains the top fundraiser among candidates still on the local November ballot, a distinction she holds after soundly defeating Kenneth Boyd and Michael Carrigan in the Democratic primary in June. For that primary, the losing candidates together raised more than $580,000.
