Pools of water filled the curbside lanes of many thoroughfares as storm drains strained to absorb the heavy deluge of rain that persisted through much of the day and evening Saturday. The regional National Weather Service has issued continued forecasts for rain and possible thunderstorms through Monday. Drivers should use caution when approaching roadways showing signs of flooding.
