Luzerne County 911 to receive $1.3 million in computerized phone upgrades

Luzerne County’s 911 center is set to receive $1.3 million in state-funded computerized phone upgrades as part of a regional agreement with seven other Northeastern Pennsylvania counties, according to Tuesday’s county council work session agenda. The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency awarded a total of $7.3 million for the eight-county shared phone system, with Monroe County acting as fiduciary over the funds.
