"It's never too late to speak up and defend yourself," a 21-year-old sexual abuse survivor told an audience Thursday at the Kane County Child Advocacy Center. The woman, who was abused when she was 5 by her fathers's cousin, testified against her abuser at a 2012 trial and he was convicted and sent to prison for 24 years.
