For Holy Trinity Lutheran Church members, celebrating the church’s centennial this May marks a good time to remember their humble beginning. But it also pushes them to continue to serve in mighty ways in their community. The church formally organized on the last Sunday in May 1917. The next year, they bought the lot where the church is currently located and began having services in a building that originally housed servants. “What is interesting,” said Pastor Steve Counts, “is that, amidst all the growth and change, the congregation that began life in converted servants’ quarters never lost its servant heart.” “In the early days, Holy Trinity sought to make people’s lives better through various Lutheran help agencies and educational institutions,” Counts continued.
