He spent 10 months as a prisoner of war. On Monday, the Highlands Ranch resident climbed aboard one of the last B-17s still capable of flight, and he stepped back into history to tour the aircraft, an aluminum warship that bristles with replica .50-caliber machine guns. The plane, owned by the Liberty Foundation, was at Rocky Mountain Metro Airport, where it will stay through the weekend.
