What is UIL protocol for students with concussions?

In 2011, the state Legislature passed "Natasha's Law," which set new standards for concussion treatment and required high school athletes to be evaluated by a physician before returning to sports activities. While the additional medical oversight has taken some responsibility off coaches, UIL Deputy Director Jamey Harrison said the high school governing body does not have the authority to create a standard return-to-play protocol, despite a state mandate for districts to have one.
