Car shears off power pole in Battle Ground

A vehicle traveling on Northeast 82nd Avenue in Battle Ground sheared off a power pole at the intersection of Northeast 279th Street on Friday evening. No one was injured. The crash was reported at 6:42 p.m., and Clark Public Utilities District was still working at the scene about two hours later. A 1971 MG convertible driven by Mark Windus, 65, of Ridgefield was traveling north on 82nd Avenue approaching the intersection with 279th when an eastbound 1987 Ford F-250 pickup began to pull out into the intersection in front of the car, according to Clark County sheriff’s Sgt.
