Windham family escapes safely after fire starts in attic

A fire that apparently started in the attic of a house on Tandberg Trail in Windham was brought under control nearly an hour after it started Thursday morning. A dispatcher said the fire was reported at 114 Tandberg Trail at about 7:30 a.m. The road was closed from Route 302 to Falmouth Road while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. The dispatcher said the fire was declared under control around 8:15 a.m. The dispatcher said members of the family living in the house were able to escape the safely and no injuries were reported among the firefighters.
