(AP) — Jordan Bentley ran for two second-quarter touchdowns and Aqeel Glass threw two touchdown passes as Alabama A&M built a 30-0 lead and held on to beat Texas Southern, 30-13 in the Southwest Conference opener for both schools Saturday night. The victory was the first in four games this season for the Bulldogs. Nick Carden got Alabama A&M (1-3, 1-0) on the board with 5:15 left in the first quarter, connecting on a 19-yard field goal.
