BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (AP) — A southern Michigan man has been ordered to stand trial in the carbon monoxide death of his girlfriend's 11-year-old daughter last March. Harold Ward, of Battle Creek, was bound over for trial last week on charges of involuntary manslaughter and second-degree child abuse in the death of Chloe Stevens. Police say Ward, 45, was running an upholstery business and living in the back of the shop with his girlfriend, Sandee Confer, and her daughter.
